Elementary Education (K-8)
Keene State College offers a post-baccalaureate program that leads to certification in Elementary Education (grades K-8. The Post Baccalaureate Teacher Certification program is structured for students who wish to attend on a part time basis and typically takes one to two years to complete. For students seeking certification in elementary education, it is important to note that in addition to the Praxis I and Praxis II test results required with the application, results of the KSC Math 171 Proficiency Exam are required to determine whether or not you will need to take Math 071 prior to Math 171 and 172.
Before selecting an education program, it is important to experience the public school environment in order to determine your specific teaching goal. Keene State College requires candidates for certification programs to have a minimum of 300 hours of experience in an appropriate educational setting prior to admission to a teacher certification program.
