The International Service Trip (IST) is a ten to fourteen day service-based immersion into different cultural, environmental, and socioeconomic communities around the world. IST teams take part in service projects that address unmet community needs, gain awareness of critical social issues, enhance their individual growth, and prepare for lives of active citizenship.
We are currently recruiting Student Team Leaders for IST 2015.
Student Team Leaders must be in good academic and disciplinary standing at KSC. The role requires a great deal of time and effort and should be a main focus of the team leaders talent and energy during the year. Team leaders will be an integral part of the trip planning process which requires attention to detail and recurring meetings. Team leaders will be required to lead meetings, service projects, reflection activities and fundraising events before, during, and after the trip. Team leaders must be strong advocates for the program and demonstrate a commitment to community service and social change.
Students who previously participated in IST have first consideration during the application review process. Because the focus of the International Service Trip is to include as many students as possible, only two students who have been on a previous International Service Trip will be allowed to return for a second trip as Student Team Leaders.
Student Team Leader Applications are due February 28, 2014 at 4pm.
