When you come to the Center for Writing for a one-on-one appointment, the tutors will welcome you, listen to your ideas and questions, and offer you specific suggestions to help you move forward with confidence no matter what you are working on or where you are in the writing process.

Meet the tutors:

Aidan Bolduc

Major: English – Writing
Favorite Book: The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
Activities: I also work in the Library as a Research Fellow and I am a member of Active Minds, an organization that promotes understanding for mental illness and that fights against the stigma that surrounds it. In my free time I’m the archetypal nerd: I enjoy reading and writing stories, playing videogames, and acting as Game Master for Tabletop RPG’s with my friends.

Allison Brady

Majors: Communication and Psychology
Favorite book: Anything by Nicholas Sparks
Activities: Cross Country and Track & Field runner

Amy Donovan

Major: Secondary Education and English
Favorite book:
Activities: Along with tutoring at the Center for Writing, I am also a Copy Editor for Keene State’s student newspaper the Equinox. On my free time I enjoy hiking, painting, running, reading, and writing.

Analee Benik
Major: Psychology, Minor: Addiction
Favorite book: A Prayer for Owen Meany
Activities: Sister of Delta Xi Phi sorority, member of Active Minds

Caroline Gamble

Major: Elementary Education and Spanish

What I like to do: Intramural soccer, Big Brothers Big Sisters, skiiing

Emily Cackowski

Major: English Literature and Writing major
Favorite book: Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell by Susanna Clarke
Clubs: In my spare time I pursue art and creative writing.

Heather Aldrich

Major: Health science/substance abuse and addictions, minor in psych
Favorite book: The Art of Racing in the Rain
Activities: President of KSC Pride

James Spineti
Major: political science, minor in environmental studies

Activities: campus ecology, snowboarding and music

Mary D’Orvilliers

Major: Secondary Education and Spanish
Favorite book: Secrets of my Hollywood Life by Jen Calonita
Activities: I work for the Center for Writing and for the Alumni center. I am also the secretary for the Big Brothers, Big Sisters club, and I love being a part of the Social Activities club!

Nathan Brown

Major: Film Production
Favorite book: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling
Activities: I like Piña Coladas and getting caught in the rain. I also enjoy freestyle skiing and playing golf. Aside from working at the Center for Writing I also am an RA in Owls Nest 3.

Shane Piesik

Major: Economics, minor in Management
Favorite book: Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely
Activities: Economics tutor with Aspire Program, KSIG (Keene State Investment Group), follow all sports with baseball being my favorite, and fitness enthusiast.

Samantha Brault

Major: Holocaust and Genocide Studies
Favorite book: The Kite Runner, Atonement, The Storyteller
Activities: I enjoy playing intramural volleyball, I am a Holocaust and Genocide Awareness E-board member, and I love the gym

Sarah Lennon
Major: Communications; double minor in Writing and Spanish
Favorite book: The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien
Activities: Currently pledging DXP, helping with the Bernie Sanders campaign, second job at the circulation desk in the library, and I enjoy reading and writing fiction, drawing, going to the gym, spending time with friends, and petting other people’s dogs.

Veronica Spadaro

Major: Film Production and Critical Studies, minor in Writing
Favorite book: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
Activities: I am part of Keene State Media Productions, the Fencing Club and the Improv Club… I spend my free time hiking, taking photos, editing videos, writing short stories, and mainly wasting time on the Internet.


Dr. Katherine (Kate) Tirabassi (Director)

Major: Rhetoric/Composition
Favorite book: Malcolm Gladwell, The Tipping Point
Activities: Read, write, work out at Training for Warriors Keene

Cyndi Glover (Assistant Director)

Major: Psychology
Favorite book: The Help
Activities: I love the ‘typical things’, like reading and listening to music, but I really look forward to the times I am able to cuddle up with my dog, Cooper, a miniature Dachshund.
