As biodiversity is threatened by habitat loss, pollutants endanger pollinators, food insecurity persists, and climate change continues to be fed its steady diet of carbon \u2013 how will we make a difference? How will you, and the companies or agencies you may come to work for, turn it around and contribute to making a better world?<\/p>\n<p>At Keene State, our <strong>Department of Environmental and Sustainability Studies<\/strong> offers a solutions-oriented curriculum to equip you with the skills and experiences needed to address the unprecedented environmental challenges facing this generation.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you are interested in local research or global environmental issues, we offer a variety of courses and faculty-led research experiences. These experiences range from examining the forest environments right outside our doors here in New Hampshire during class time, to field trips studying resources management in national parks in the U.S. Southwest (May 2022), as well as international field experiences studying tiger populations in Nepal (May 2023), comparative in-person examinations of sea level rise in Hawai\u2018i and the coast of New Hampshire (summer 2023), and explorations of sustainability practices in Asia (May 2024).<\/p>\n<p>\u200bSmall classes and close interaction with faculty\u00a0are the norm at Keene State.
