LLC Oversight Committee<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n

The LLC Oversight Committee<\/a> advises and supports the LLC program at Keene State College and consists of faculty, staff, and administrators from Academic Affairs and Student Affairs. Throughout the academic year, the committee holds meetings to support faculty in proposing, preparing for, and teaching an LLC. Upon request, members of the committee can meet with individual faculty and departments to answer specific questions and provide more help. Faculty who submit an LLC proposal and are approved will also be invited to join the LLC Faculty Learning Community, which includes access to a Canvas course of resources for LLC Faculty and other LLC faculty enrichment programming.<\/p>\n

LLC Faculty Learning Community<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the 2019-2020 academic year Graham Warder will facilitate an LLC Faculty Learning Community<\/a>. This faculty learning community is topic-based since it addresses the specific needs of faculty who are teaching LLCs. This community gathers when requested and is shaped by the needs of its participants. Sample gatherings of the LLC Faculty Learning Community include a tour of the building, dinner with the student RAs to get to know them, a wellness and KSC CARES discussion with health professionals from the Counseling Center, as well a syllabus workshop .<\/p>\n

Office of Residential Life and Housing Services<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Resident Director (RD) for the Commons building and a number of student residential assistants (RAs) are assigned to the LLCs to support the faculty teaching the linked LLC courses. For example, faculty collaborate with RAs on co-curricular programming that they integrate into their syllabi, or often ask the RD questions about how best to use the residential part of the building and foster community outside of the classroom. Funding<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is a budget set aside for the LLC program and residential hall at Keene State College. Faculty teaching LLC courses can draw on this budget to cover costs of co-curricular programming and other activities related to their LLCs. Note that this funding cannot cover personnel-related costs such as wages for student workers or stipends for LLC faculty.<\/p>\n

KSC Cares | Health and Wellness Team
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Like all faculty on campus, LLC faculty can get support from the KSC CARES<\/a> team with concerns related to the academic, personal, physical, or emotional well-being of LLC students. KSC CARES is a multi-disciplinary body of stakeholders from across the college who receive referrals pertaining to students of concern, collects additional information and identifies and enacts appropriate strategies for addressing the situation. Faculty can also utilize outreach programs<\/a> run by counselors and the Center for Health and Wellness.<\/p>\n

Ongoing campus events<\/a> are another resource for LLC faculty who are encouraged to incorporate these pre-plannned co-curricular events into their LLC course requirements.<\/p>\n
