I live near Castleton, Vt (Castleton State College) and each year at their Parent/Family Weekend most of the Fall sports teams have a home game scheduled. This is our fourth Parent/Family Weekend and I wonder why the same is not done at Keene. It is a great way for parents to visit their child as well as watch game. We do not have a child playing a sport but would enjoy watching the different teams. I realize two women’s events are scheduled but it as been a couple years since a men’s event has been on the schedule. I realize scheduling would need to be creative to accommodate all the teams but I believe it would be possible. I just feel it would add to the weekend especially if it was a beautiful fall day.
Thank you for your suggestion. Sport team scheduling is an art unto itself and is done with great care and effort by the Division Athletic Directors several years out. We have intentionally kept P/F weekend the same weekend (last weekend in Sept.) to help families plan over the four years. We are fortunate at KSC to have highly competitive fall teams and each are invigorating to watch.
