KSC History to Premier During Homecoming

Three years in the making, the long-awaited film, Enter to Learn, Go forth to Serve: the First Hundred Years of Keene State College, will premiere at the Colonial Theatre in Keene on Friday, October 1st, kicking off the Alumni Fall Festival & Homecoming weekend. Emeriti faculty member Larry Benaquist and a host of talented production staff have spent countless hours creating this wonderful documentary chronicling the history of Keene State College. He has researched college documents, ancient film footage, slides, yearbooks, and ephemera and interviewed more than 100 alumni, former and current administrators, faculty, and staff.

Dr. Benaquist showed part of the film to a packed house last year during the centennial Reunion.Tickets for the big event will be available in September. You’ll definitely want to mark this one on your calendar!

  1. Hi Friends at the Alumni Office!

Miss you all…wish I could have attended but this has and will continue to be a busy year! In February I took 2 cruises in the Carribean Sea, visiting St Thomas, Puerto Rico, Aruba, Curacao, Kitts & Caico and Bahamas.
Then in April I visited China, Beijing for 5 days and Shanghai for 5 days. Had the opportunity to climb The Great Wall of China near Beijing and was the only one of 40 to make it to the Top of the ridge we engaged! Not bad for being 67. Next Wed I travel North to Ct then a week later to Portsmouth, NH to attend my 50th high school reunion…not bad for someone who’s only 39 years old, oops, I already gave away my real age! Well then to NYC and a few plays.
On Aug 16th I fly to Stuttgart, Germany to stay with my nephew and his family (3 yo daughter is my God-Daughter) and see my brand new Grand nephew, Maximillian (Max). We all will travel to Finland, his wife’s home, to visit her family and for me to see her wonderful country. She and the children will stay while my nephew and I travel back through Latvia, Estonia, Lithuivania and Poland.
Then on Sep 11th I will fly to Madrid to take a 14 day Cities Tour of Spain. This is really going to be a thrill for me. I will then fly back to Stuttgart and from there revisit all 4 cities where I was stationed during my total of 12 years in Germany with the U.S. Army.
Then next January I will take another cruise to Cozemul and the Mayan coast as well as Jamaica.
Still hope next year to either go back to visit Korea or see Machu Pichu in Peru….or maybe both!

Anyhow, will we be able to purchase a copy of this Great Documentary? I hope so.

Best wishes to all and I really do miss all of you.
    Ken Morris, ’64
