By now, you’ve probably heard the heartwarming story of Harriet Ames ’31, the Keene Normal School alum who received her long-awaited B.Ed. the day before she died – a couple of weeks after her 100th birthday. The story made the news across the country and around the world. One of the nicest write ups appeared in the Cleveland Plain Dealer, and we wanted to make sure you saw it.

The article by Connie Schulz makes you feel like you are sitting and listening to Harriet. Don’t miss the video. What a Grand Lady! Imagine all the lucky children who blossomed under her caring teaching. It would be a help to all of us if we all valued education as Harriet did.
I’m so pleased our Whirling Dervish – Norma – helped facillitate the process and Keene State College Folks managed to have a Dream Come True.
Thanks to all involved.
