{"id":3027,"date":"2011-09-07T19:12:32","date_gmt":"2011-09-07T19:12:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.keene.edu\/newsline\/?p=3027"},"modified":"2011-09-21T15:23:32","modified_gmt":"2011-09-21T15:23:32","slug":"film-students-on-film","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.keene.edu\/newsline\/2011\/09\/07\/film-students-on-film\/","title":{"rendered":"Film Students on Film"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3028\" src=\"http:\/\/sites.keene.edu\/newsline\/files\/2011\/09\/FilmStill.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"458\" height=\"343\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.keene.edu\/newsline\/files\/2011\/09\/FilmStill.jpg 458w, https:\/\/sites.keene.edu\/newsline\/files\/2011\/09\/FilmStill-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 458px) 100vw, 458px\" \/>For many recent film grads, most of their time at KSC was spent working on <em>Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve: the First Hundred Years of Keene State College<\/em>. <strong>The film, which airs on New Hampshire Public TV at 8 and 9 p.m. on Sept. 26 and several other times this fall<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nhptv.org\/schedule\/summary.aspx?progId=232424&amp;progTimeAir=9\/26\/2011%209:00:00%20PM&amp;chnl=prime\" target=\"_blank\">see the schedule<\/a>), was a grand and serious project, and 80 or so students spent many long hours creating this excellent documentary. As film studies adjunct faculty member and the film&#8217;s co-creator <strong>Lance Levesque<\/strong> noted, &#8220;We set the standard so high that nothing but perfection was acceptable. That doesn&#8217;t just happen; you don&#8217;t just go out and take a picture. Some of our shoots were eight hours long, to get one shot with the perfect lighting with no shadows, and the prefect movement with no jittering.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">All those stories of what went on behind the scenes are not lost: Levesque sent two camera crews out during filming\u2014one to shoot the film, and the other to document the work behind the film. &#8220;It shows what a serious film student we graduate here\u2014they&#8217;re very dedicated, they work very hard, and, from the behind-the-scenes\u00a0 footage, you can see that so many things can go wrong,&#8221; Levesque explained. &#8220;You can watch the students work through the problems and correct mistakes to get the best footage possible.&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/28719639\" target=\"_blank\">See the behind-the-scenes story here<\/a>.<em><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><em>Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve: the First Hundred Years of Keene State College<\/em> premiered at the Colonial Theatre in downtown Keene over Homecoming Weekend last October (2010).<strong> Ryan LaLiberty \u201911<\/strong> offered an insightful <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.keene.edu\/newsline\/2010\/10\/11\/ksc-film-receives-audience-seal-of-approval\/#more-1590\" target=\"_blank\">review that appeared in <em>Newsline<\/em><\/a> shortly after the event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For many recent film grads, most of their time at KSC was spent working on Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve: the First Hundred Years of Keene State College.
