\nElle<\/em> magazine in its article, “United States of Style<\/a>,” has listed Salon Jacqu\u00e9<\/a> in Brattleboro, Vermont, (6 Eliot St.) as one of the top 100 salons in the country. And where would the owner of such an award-winning establishment get her remarkable sense of style? Salon-owner Jacqueline Bilodeau<\/strong> is a 1989 graduate from KSC’s Theatre & Dance Department!

\n“Jacqu\u00e9 was my very first costume student when I arrived in 1988,” said Assistant Dean of Arts & Humanities Elisabeth Roos<\/strong>. “Truth be told, she was running the costume shop and wasn’t sure how to respond to my arrival!\u00a0 It has been great fun to watch her career as she grew into her profession and began to mentor the next generation. She taught makeup design for TAD when I was chair. She showed up for her first class dressed in a man’s suit, wearing a full makeup, including a beard. As she introduced herself to her students, she began to peel away the disguise to reveal her true face. Those kids were hooked!”<\/p>\n

Jacqu\u00e9 and her staff have volunteered (“begged and pleaded, really,” according to Prof. Roos) to help out with hair and makeup for The Rocky<\/em> Horror Show<\/em><\/a>, which will be performed at the Redfern from November 16\u201319 (with special midnight show\u2014of course!\u2014on the 18th).<\/p>\n
