Envisioning Our Future<\/em>. Composer Steven Danyew, winner of the 2011 Keene State College Call for Scores competition, will join Dr. Chesebrough; <strong>Heather Gilligan<\/strong>, composer and assistant professor of music; and <strong>Joe Darby<\/strong>, musicologist, performer, and professor of music, in a pre-concert panel to discuss the importance of commissioning new music.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nThe performance features compositions that connect us to people, places, and things in our culture, including Danyew&#8217;s <em>Flash Black<\/em>, Eric Nathan\u2019s <em>Jump Start<\/em>, \u201cElsa\u2019s Procession to the Cathedral\u201d from Richard Wagner&#8217;s opera <em>Lohengrin<\/em>, and Adam Gorb\u2019s <em>Bermuda Triangle<\/em>. A new work by Andrew Boysen, <em>Twilight of the Gods<\/em>, exemplifies the current trend of multi-media composition, combining Boysen\u2019s music with the video illustrations of visual artist Erik Evansen. The finale features the combined choruses performing Anton Bruckner\u2019s \u201cGloria\u201d from the <em>Mass in E Minor<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for kids under 17, senior citizens and KSC students.
