ICME is held once every four years and is one of the largest international congresses in mathematical education, serving as a forum for mathematics educators, researchers, mathematicians, and practicing teachers from all over the world to present their latest research and to discuss trends in mathematics education from international perspectives.<\/p>\n<p>A KSC Distinguished Teacher,\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.keene.edu\/newsline\/2010\/09\/01\/dr-beverly-ferrucci-distinguished-teacher-of-the-year\/\">Dr. Ferrucci<\/a> was selected from a pool of more than 500 applicants by a committee of representatives from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nctm.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">National Council of Teachers of Mathematics<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.maa.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mathematical Association of America<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amatyc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ams.org\/home\/page\" target=\"_blank\">American Mathematical Society<\/a>, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.nationalacademies.org\/PGA\/biso\/ICMI\/\" target=\"_blank\">US National Commission on Mathematics Instruction<\/a>.
