{"id":5000,"date":"2012-10-26T22:17:27","date_gmt":"2012-10-26T22:17:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.keene.edu\/newsline\/?p=5000"},"modified":"2014-04-14T21:09:28","modified_gmt":"2014-04-14T21:09:28","slug":"two-student-papers-published-in-metamorphosis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.keene.edu\/newsline\/2012\/10\/26\/two-student-papers-published-in-metamorphosis\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Student Papers Published in <em>Metamorphosis<\/em>"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_5010\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5010\" style=\"width: 175px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5010\" src=\"http:\/\/sites.keene.edu\/newsline\/files\/2012\/10\/Brian-Watson1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"175\" height=\"247\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5010\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Brian Watson \u201912<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Two recent KSC graduates, <strong>Brian Watson \u201912<\/strong> and <strong>Anna Peterson \u201912<\/strong> have research papers published in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coplac.org\/metamorphosis\/metamorphosis.php?a=Fall2012\" target=\"_blank\">fall 2012 issue of <em>Metamorphosis<\/em><\/a>, COPLAC&#8217;s online journal highlighting outstanding work in undergraduate research.<\/p>\n<p>English and history major Brian Watson&#8217;s paper, &#8220;Crossdressing, Crossculture: Conceptions and Perceptions of Crossdressing in Golden Age Madrid and Tudor-Stuart London,&#8221; explores the issue of crossdressing as a common ground on which to explore Spanish and English cultures in three dimensions: on the stage, as a literary device, and as done by actual historical figures.\u00a0Brian is currently enrolled in a PhD program in Intellectual and Cultural History at Drew University in NJ.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5011\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5011\" style=\"width: 175px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5011\" src=\"http:\/\/sites.keene.edu\/newsline\/files\/2012\/10\/Anna-Peterson1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"175\" height=\"246\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5011\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Anna Peterson \u201912<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Elementary education and communications major Anna Peterson&#8217;s paper, &#8220;The Role of Organizational Culture in Donor Recruitment at the American Red Cross,&#8221; looks at how the nonprofit sector in New Hampshire plays a significant role in \u201cpreserving and enhancing the quality of life for NH residents\u201d and how the government has partnered with the nonprofit sector to help provide a range of services. Anna is currently a permanent substitute teacher in the Merrimack Valley School District.<\/p>\n<p>Keene State College is one of 26 members of COPLAC, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coplac.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges<\/a>, which champions the cause of liberal arts and sciences education of superior quality in the public sector.
