The donation includes one linear foot of archival records, photographs, study material, and audiovisual material that document the 32-year history of this women\u2019s study group.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nThe Tuesday Academy was established in 1981 by Bonnie Riley, a retired high school teacher, who wanted to form a women\u2019s study group in the Monadnock region. The Academy, still active today, includes members from varied backgrounds\u2014professionals to stay-at-home mothers\u2014who all share an \u201ceagerness\u201d to learn. The group meets every Tuesday (hence their name) and covers a wide range of subjects from art to literature to science. Politics is an active concern of the group. It was through the Academy that Doris \u201cGranny D\u201d Haddock, a long-time member, was inspired to pursue her political activism.<\/p>\n<p>The Tuesday Academy Archive joins a growing research collection of women\u2019s history material from the Monadnock region that includes the <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.keene.edu\/newsline\/2011\/03\/17\/granny-ds-archives-come-to-ksc\/\">Doris \u201cGranny D\u201d Haddock Collection<\/a>, Christine Sweeney Papers, and the records of the Hinsdale Women\u2019s Club.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Tuesday Academy Archive is now part of\u00a0 the Special Collections in the Mason Library.
