WELCOME TO

The Big Beliefs Lab is located in the Psychology Department at Keene State College. At the B.B. Lab, we investigate kids' and teens' beliefs about religion, human nature, and more. Questions that we are currently interested in researching include:

What are kids' and teens' deepest beliefs?

How do we measure these deepest beliefs?

Where do these deepest beliefs come from?

How do these beliefs change over time?

How do these beliefs affect kids' and teens' health?

Can we sort people into different belief types in the same way we sort people into different personality types?

WHAT IS RESEARCH PARTICIPATION LIKE AT THE B.B. LAB?

Kids and teens who participate in research with the Big Beliefs Lab have the option to participate online or in our research lab on campus. Our on-campus lab space is bright and cheerful, and we provide toys and coloring supplies for any siblings that are tagging along. Sessions usually last about 30 minutes. During the session, a researcher will ask your child questions while you observe the session in real-time from a separate room. For younger participants, we like to turn our sessions into games by awarding children points for each question they answer, and all of our participants receive a small thank-you for helping us with this research!
