Kids’ Developing Beliefs
Currently, we are researching children, teens, and adults on their beliefs about important topics such as religion, science, nature, and human nature. We are currently recruiting participants 7 years old through adulthood to participate in this exciting research!
In this study, participants read 33 statements about the topics listed above and say how much they agree or disagree with each one. Researchers guide participating children (7-12 years old) through the questions over Zoom or in person at our lab on campus. Teenage and adult participants, on the other hand, complete an online survey on their own. Participants (and parents of the child and teen participants) will also be asked to answer demographic questions, such as age, ethnicity, and religious affiliation. The study takes about 15-20 minutes for teen and adult participants and 30-40 minutes for child participants. Children who participate in person get to pick out a toy from our toy chest as thanks, while all other participants are entered to win one of three $50 gift cards.
Child participants
Scroll down to schedule a data collection session for child participants who are 7-12 years old. Please schedule a separate session for each participating child!
Adult participants
Adults 18+ can access the survey here. **Any adult can participate – even if you don’t have a child who’s participating. If you have a child or teen who is planning to participate, please wait to complete this survey until they are done participating, as it makes it easier to link your data.**
Teenage participants
Parents of teenage (13-17 years old) participants must provide consent before their teenage child can participate. Click here to provide parental consent and receive a survey link for your teenager to participate.
