The Geography, Outdoor Recreation, and Planning Department prepares students for a wide variety of careers in industry, government and the non-profit sector. Our students build a broad range of technical and professional skills as they take advantage of internships, field courses, and regular travel opportunities.
Our students are regularly hosted as interns by organizations in Keene, including Southwest Region Planning Commission, the City of Keene Parks and Recreation and Community Development Departments, as well as Monadnock Conservancy. Upon graduation, Keene State geography students pursue work in a broad array of occupations. Read our Alumni section to see the wide variety of jobs and locations where our graduates land. These include full-time positions in environmental leadership, planning agencies, GIS analysis, as well as land conservation and resource management.
